Potential Security Risk: Out-of-Date Software Affects Alchemy

At Intertek Alchemy, we are constantly iterating our product suite to ensure we offer our clients the most innovative solutions. In order for us to provide our customers the best industry training solutions, we must sometimes retire older versions to ensure compatibility with third party software and up-to-date content. Please review the details below to ensure that you can take advantage of the most current version of Alchemy.

 

Customers Using Windows 7:

On January 14th, 2020, Microsoft will no longer offer technical support, software updates, or security updates for Windows 7. If you are currently using Windows 7, it is critical that you update to Windows 10 to receive product updates from Alchemy.

Please visit https://www.microsoft.com/windows7 to learn about what’s new in Windows 10 and best practices for transitioning from Windows 7 to Windows 10.

 

Player Customers:

In 2019, our product team distributed to all clients our most innovative and advanced training solution, Player 7. If you have not updated to Player 7 then it’s important to note that older versions of Player 6.0/6.1 pre-FSMA will have outdated content.

Please work with your IT team to get Player 7 installed immediately to unlock new features & content to optimize your training.

Effective February 2020, we will no longer support sync for Player devices running on version 5.x. In addition, we will also stop support for Windows 8.x and older versions of Windows 10 (16299 and lower from 2016).

 

Creator Customers:

We will no longer provide support for Windows 8.x effective Feb 2020.

 

Coach Customers:

Alchemy Coach v2.5 was released in August 2019!

If you haven’t upgraded to Alchemy Coach v2.5, please download the latest version in the app store (iTunes, Google Play or Microsoft). Please note, version 2.5 will not support Win 10 old (16299 and lower from 2016).

On February 20th:

  • We will no longer support Coach v2.1

  • We will drop support for Android 7 (Nougat)

  • We are adding support for Android Q
