#AlchemyConference 2015 Introducing: Food Safety Expert Lone Jespersen

The Alchemy Conference team has been hard at work putting together an amazing agenda of speakers this year! At the event you’ll hear from industry influencers, thought leaders, and power users as they share best practices, trends and strategies for optimizing your workforce.

As the 2015 roster of speakers grows, we wanted to introduce you to a few of the key speakers you’ll meet in Austin.

Today’s profile is on Lone Jespersen, an internationally acclaimed professional and current director of food safety and operations learning at Maple Leaf Foods Inc.

Industry Expertise

Lone has been with Maple Leaf Foods since 2004. She initially joined as a Six Sigma Black Belt and later became director of Six Sigma for the organization. Lone took responsibility for the execution of the company’s corporate wide food safety strategy in 2009.

 

Food Safety Leadership

Most recently, Lone has assumed a leadership role overseeing all of the operations’ learning objectives and programs. Since taking on this leadership role Lone has been a featured author for:

  • Lone also serves as chair for IAFP’s HACCP professional development group. 

 

International Influence

Lone’s passion has led to the development of her safety culture measurement system “Cultivate Food Safety,” which she is currently refining with North American and European food manufactures. In fact, Lone was the 2014 recipient of the Mary Edmunds Williams Scholarships in support of her food safety culture research.

Lone holds a Master in Mechanical Engineering from Syd Dansk University, Denmark; a Master of Food Science from the University of Guelph; and is presently pursuing her PhD with Dr. Mansel Griffiths at the University of Guelph.
