In August 2021, Arca Continental became Intertek Alchemy’s 1,000^th customer as it implemented our training management platform and course library at eight of its facilities in five countries, elevating the safety and performance of nearly 2,500 workers.

The multilingual training management platform enabled Arca Continental to implement learning solutions for frontline workers across its facilities. For example, trainers added in-person classes at its Quito plant in Ecuador using Alchemy’s remote control-based system, especially for onboarding new employees. The Bokados plant in Monterrey includes a gaming aspect to the courses and offers prizes for top performers, significantly improving engagement and effectiveness of the training.

During the last year, Arca Continental recognized the need for a standard eLearning solution for frontline workers across facilities and countries. The solution had to integrate the Training Within Industry (TWI) techniques for on-the-job coaching and learning that are integral to company’s training approach.

The training team explained that many of frontline associates hadn’t been exposed to eLearning before. So, they needed to find a solution easy to adopt and conveyed with TWI strategy.

To satisfy TWI certification requirements before using the Alchemy Training System, the team organized all supervisor training plans and frontline worker courses through complicated and time-intensive spreadsheets. They sought a new tool that automatically tracks all completed coursework to provide full visibility into the Arca Continental training program and meet TWI requirements.

Arca Continental chose to add Alchemy Playbook to their training portfolio to ensure on-the-job training (OJT) is consistent and accurate. Adding Alchemy Coach also allows supervisors to verify and document that training is correctly and consistently applied on the floor.

Arca Continental has seen some impressive success. The training team can now easily upload all training updates and courses completed into the Alchemy Training System, incorporating their entire TWI process. Supervisors use mobile devices and tablets to make training more effective and convenient.
